Sometimes it´s not possible to put all your love and energy into two projects at the same time. As we always want to create garments of high quality we decided to present two items of the month together when there is time for it. This was because we had our huge presentation of the new SCHAAF collection in May. (Lookbook and further information will be online by the end of June) So, the time is now!
We proudly present our ITEMS OF THE MONTHS for May and June which are:
the skirt ROGER BUSHELL and the blouse JOHN DILLINGER.
Roger Bushell is a basic skirt with a nice little draping part around the anterior hip area which makes you feel like a dark version of Marlene Dietrich. John Dillinger is a soft and flimsy bat wing blouse which can be worn closed or open. Both versions look pretty cool!
ROGER BUSHELL is the fifth and JOHN DILLINGER is the sixth item of the first cycle of the ITEM OF THE MONTH series in 2012 which will be a wearable addition to the character “Escapee” (who we introduced to you for the “Don´t Tell The World That We Know” 2012 collection). Each series consists of six individual collection pieces which are available in our very own Online Store.
On Roger Bushell:
Squadron Leader Roger Joyce Bushell (30 August 1910 – 29 March 1944) was a South African-born British Auxiliary Air Force pilot who organised and led the famous escape from the Nazi prisoner of war camp, Stalag Luft III. He was a victim of the Stalag Luft III murders. The escape was used as the basis for the film The Great Escape. The character played by Richard Attenborough, Roger Bartlett, is modelled on Roger Bushell.
And John Dillinger:
John Herbert Dillinger, Jr. (June 22, 1903 – July 22, 1934) was an American bank robber of German descent in the Depression-era United States. He was charged with, but never convicted of, the murder of an East Chicago, Indiana police officer during a shoot-out. This was his only alleged homicide, and was likely not his action. His gang robbed two dozen banks and four police stations. Dillinger escaped from jail twice.
Director Michael Mann’s film Public Enemies is an adaptation of Bryan Burrough’s book Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-34.[35] The film featuresJohnny Depp as John Dillinger and Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis.
